La Grotte et L'Olivier

Built into the cave at the base of Roquebrune's tenth-century castle, La Grotte et l'Olivier is the village's most atmospheric table: a dining room hewn from the rock, a terrace on Place des Deux Frères that looks down through the medieval lanes to the sea. Mediterranean cooking, generous and sun-driven, in a setting no other restaurant on the coast can copy.

Ask for a terrace table on the square; the grotto room is the rainy-day prize.
