Le Relais — Hôtel Le Negresco

Le Relais opens into the Negresco's main lounge from the Promenade entrance — fireplace, oil portraits, brocade banquettes, walnut panelling. Since 1913 the room has seen Cocteau, Delon, Aznavour. The bar runs live jazz some evenings; the cocktail list runs to the classics, executed straight. Order something dark, stay past midnight, watch the bay turn black through the windows.

The window banquettes face the Promenade; the room itself is the editorial.
