Trophée d'Auguste

Built by Augustus to mark the subjugation of the Alpine tribes, the Tropaeum Alpium stands fifty metres above the village in white limestone, half-restored from its medieval demolition. The terrace below has the cleanest single view of Monaco there is.

Come at six — the limestone catches the last light and the village empties of buses.
