Hippodrome de la Côte d'Azur

Opened in 1952 on the flats by the shore, the Hippodrome de la Côte d'Azur runs winter and summer meetings — flat and trotting — and is one of the largest in France. Night racing under lights in summer is the local fixture; the seafront setting is the surprise.
