You walk a narrow gangway to a single small dining room perched above the Mediterranean. Lights from the Promenade flicker behind you; the swell of the sea is the only soundtrack. Cuisine is southern French, generous with citrus and herb. Arrive for sunset, leave reluctantly.

Ask for a window seat on the lower deck — the waves break two metres beneath you.
