Montée de la Bourgade

The Bourgade is the photograph everyone takes of Haut de Cagnes: a steep, vaulted, cobbled lane climbing between the medieval houses to the château, flowers spilling off the walls, and sudden gaps that open onto the sea and the Mercantour behind. Walk it slowly; that is the point.

Climb at the end of the day — the descending light fills the vaulted passages.
