Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Protection

From outside it is almost nothing — a small chapel below the ramparts. Inside, the apse carries Andrea de Cella frescoes from 1530, lost under whitewash for centuries and uncovered in 1936. Classified a Monument Historique in 1939; the terrace beside it is one of the village's quietest viewpoints.

Pair it with the climb down the Bourgade — the light through the door is the photograph.
