Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo

Built in 1864, the Hôtel de Paris is the spine of Monte-Carlo — the casino on one side, the Café de Paris on the other. Inside, marble runs into corridors that smell faintly of orange flower. The American bar at the back is where you sit; the lobby is for arrivals you're trying to be seen at.

Order the dry martini and ask about the cellar — they will offer to show it.
