Musée Matisse

An ochre villa surrounded by olive groves on the Cimiez hill. The collection follows Matisse through every period he worked in Nice — early fauvist canvases on the ground floor, the Vence chapel maquettes upstairs, a room of paper cut-outs at the end.

Walk down through the olive park after — twenty quiet minutes back into Old Nice.
